Our doors are open! The first step in our vision is now a reality. If you know a Veteran or family member in need in southwest Alabama, call us on 1-866-648-7334 or come by the clinic located at 1156 Springhill Avenue in Mobile, Alabama to learn more.

“It started with an idea, and then getting a team of folks together and then raising a lot of money,” said founder and Executive Director John Kilpatrick. “Putting together a clinical program, building a community of support among the other Veteran service organizations, buying the property, renovating the property and doing everything it takes to get a business up and running.”

Grand Opening

The Veteran community was well represented at the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Outpatient Clinic & Administration Building on Thursday, November 8, 2018.

The Patriot Guard Riders, made up of Vietnam Veterans, stood a flag line for the LaFlore High School JROTC to present the colors. Veterans comprised many of the 250 community members in attendance, including Veterans Recovery Resources staff. The catering provided by Saucy Q Bar B Que, a Veteran-owned local business. Remarks by SGT Mike Austin (USA, Ret.); Rebecca Byrne, President & CEO of The Community Foundation of South Alabama; Maj Chris Perry (USMC, Ret.) of Infirmary Health; Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson and CDR Pete Riehm (USN, Ret.) contributed to the poignant and yet celebratory atmosphere.

Small group tours of the facility were provided by members of the organization’s interdisciplinary Clinical Leadership Team. “Providing a blend of wellness services–physical, emotional, spiritual–and adding Veteran peer support and community integration along the way just makes sense to us,” said Kilpatrick.  The organization’s approach was recently recognized by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars program.

Veterans Recovery Resources is located at 1156 Spring Hill Avenue in mid-town Mobile, Alabama.

The location has easy interstate access to both I-10 and 1-65 and is accessible through public transportation. There is a bus stop in front of the facility.

It is conveniently near the city’s “medical corridor” that includes Infirmary Health and Springhill Medical Center, two of the organization’s major donors.

The Clinic is currently open Monday to Friday from 8:00AM-6:00PM.
